Who Are We
MARCA, Inc is a 501.c.3 Non-Profit corporation with its roots as Motorola Amateur Radio Club of Arizona (MARCA). Today MARCA is open to all Licensed Hams, Arizona Hams, and those interested in Amateur Radio. Members include just about everyone, local ham residing in Arizona, winter visitors calling Arizona home for the winter, summer visitors (if they exist), and those interested in participating or supporting the club's activities. The majority of our members are in the Phoenix Metro area.
Some of our activities include maintaining & opereating about 2 dozen repeaters located on Arizona mountain tops and the Phoenix area; expaninding our experiences into new types of repeaters, such as Dstar & Fusion; Participating in ARRL Field Day typically held in the mountains near Forest Lakes, Az. (this is a very active activity) ; ARRL FMT contests; and Antenna construction, including mountain top tower climbing. Many members are, individually or in groups, active in HF activities such as Voice, Digital, CW, DXing, Digital HF modes, MESH, and EOC operations around the valley, including contesting,. Not to forget from the new to old like SDR radio building & operations to antique radio restoring and operating. SDR, WSPR, WSJT and operations like Echolink are computer based, prompting a SBC (single board computer group meeting regularly.
